CHAMPAKULAM

In the 1960s Kuttanad was connected to the rest of the state through the Boat Service. Connectivity through roads was just a dream.

The Chengannur -  Ernakulam Boat used to stop at Champakulam. It would be midnight. The journey lasted the whole night. 

The aroma of the black coffee/ Tea and the tempting smell of the Palayankotan Pazham seeping through as we lay half asleep on the floor of the boat linger even now.

Champakulam is now connected through roads that criss cross the countryside.

Champakulam is one of the most beautiful places we have visited. The Church is ancient. The interior  was magnificent.
