You are the winner even if you don't write the exam.
You are never the winner even if you have come out first in a throw event.
These days the newspapers highlight the manipulations in the exams. You pass the exam even if you don't write the exam. You land a job even if you don't succeed in the interview.
Animal Farm written in 1945 had predicted all these.
Now I would like to quote from rusted memory.
Laji was in the Munnar Government High School. He was a sportsman. He was a participant in the throw events at the School Sports. He came home and told us he had come first in the Short Put. His throw had beaten all the others.
Alas, when the results were declared by school sports officials for the award of prizes Laji was nowhere in the picture. When he protested, the PE teacher told him his throw was too short.
Well, manipulation was the order of those days. They still are even today. They would win the day for the undeserving in future too.
Notice how people land jobs and how the best are eliminated. When selections are by elimination those who are clever manipulate and succeed.
Brilliance do not matter.
