Our niece wrote
" I was studying Leviticus chapters 9 and 10. God’s servants are not God. When Nadab and Abihu were killed Aaron and his other sons were not allowed to take a break in any way.
I couldn’t grasp the last line of Leviticus 10 when Aaron asks ‘19 Aaron replied to Moses, “Today they sacrificed their sin offering and their burnt offering before the Lord, but such things as this have happened to me. Would the Lord have been pleased if I had eaten the sin offering today?” 20 When Moses heard this, he was satisfied.’
I replied
"God said I am your God. You'll have no other God.
Everything begins here. Ends here.
When you deviate you've had it.
Bible is Old Testament and New Testament.
Think of the times the OT was composed.
People had to be convinced. Mostly it was achieved through fright.
They wanted conformists.
These stories or examples were put to you so that you never wavered.
Even today women are put down quoting verses from both OT and NT.
In a world where change is constant, change is resisted to enforce the rule of those in power.
My contention is, BELIEVE in God. Not in interpretations that advocate the supremacy of mortals"
