Please take to heart the old Turkish Proverb
No road is long with good company
Sometimes it's difficult to understand and connect with the people in our lives when all we're thinking about is what's right in front of us.
Please step back occasionally to take a wider view. Place ourselves and the people we care about into the context of a longer life. It is a great way to inject empathy and understanding into our relationships.
We could thus avoid frustrations we have with each other and induce deeper connections.
It helps us remember that our views of life depend on where we stand in the life cycle.
In the end it's about gaining some perspective on the roads we've taken and the roads still to come.
It's about helping each other anticipate and prepare for the hard curves ahead
