TAKING GOOD CARE OF THE INTERIOR OF AN ANCIENT CHURCH SHORT OF THIRTY TWO YEARS FOR BICENTENARY
BEFORE RESTORATION
AFTER RESTORATION
COMMENTS BY THE FAITHFUL
All these years we had taken so much care to preserve the legacy inherited.
The present color scheme may be modified to rosewood please.
If there had been a special collection drive among the congregation, the Church could have raised enough resources to procure rosewood for the restoration. Instead a montrosity is the fait accompli.
I just cannot understand how something like this has happened!!
No one has any right to tamper/alter with any architectural detail in a heritage building!!
How can architectural details be altered ??!!
Never in my dreams even,I can conceive that such atrocious acts are allowed in a sanctuary we have inherited and tried to preserve all these years
A strong message needs to be sent to the person who had authorised such a work ...
When I saw this I was so disappointed ... to say the least
Who allowed such atrocious modifications.
Very Sad.
Good example of destruction or defacement of archetectural marvels in a heritage building - nation's treasure.
Does the work have approval from State's Archeology Dept?
Have these been added or was it there before and we didn't notice because it was all of the same colour?
Looking at the pictures, a very senior Pastor who had conducted Worships in the Church many times revealed he was shocked beyond words.
The picutres and the comments speak. The message is clear.
Restoration is not alteration
