Braut Haaland.

They are his mother's and father's names.

While his father was a footballer, his mother was a champion heptathelete.

Haaland is now investing in Chess in Norway.

He has formed a company CHESSMATES with two others. The company will have stakes in Norway Chess. They are organising a new Total Chess World Championship Tour starting in 2027.

Haaland said, "I'm investing because the new event can turn Chess into an even bigger sport for spectators around the world. 

Chess is an incredible game. It sharpens your mind. There are clear similarities to football. You have to think quickly, trust your instincts, and think several moves ahead.
