NDA - National Defence Academy , Khadakwasla, Poone specializes in the highest standards.  Catching them young, it accepts candidates after class 12 while  at OTA-Officers' Training Academy,  Chennai,  the entry is restricted to graduates alone.

An Army Officer's physical standards are non-negotiable, regardless of the training background. 

NDA demands three years for one of the Indian Military's most intense and grueling training programmes.

This is the place where the cadets are put through a written test after a 14 km run.  Here women are treated on par with men..  Men or women, the rigors of the training regimen remain unchanged.  They rise before dawn, run kilometer after kilometer, write the same tests and perform the same drill. They learn how to push their limits to the next level.
