We had as visitors a mother and her daughter. The mother is a teacher in a school and the daughter had just concluded her board exams.
We asked the girl what her plans were for the future. The girl was candid to state that she wished to do a course in fashion desigining. The mother exploded. She said the girl is just an average student and she had a difficult time in preparing her to face the exam. According to her the girl would find it tough to go through the course in fashion designing. There was so much to learn. Moreover it was a very expensive course. Her advice was that the girl should go for an ordinary degree programme and then choose her line.
We didn't comment, but posted our views to the mother and the girl.
"Aim high. Set your goals. Fight to achieve them.
There is no substitute to hardwork.
You must compress 48 hours and more to 24 hours.
Then success is yours."
(This was to both the girl and the mother)
"My contention.
You can differ.
You can discard.
Never say she's incapable of achievement. Especially in her presence. For the children sky is the limit. They need to be motivated. Not stifled.
Encourage them.
Never say you don't have money. Again in their presence. When you set out doors will be opened.
Money will be there for everything.
Of course you'll be through tough difficult situations. But you have already overcome so much hardships nothing can ever put you down.
Fight. Never begin as the loser.
Trust their ability. Have faith in them."
(This was to the mother)
